New Hochsölden-Rotkogl feeder gondola

Comfort in a row. This is how the new 10-person Hochsölden-Rotkogl gondola lift can be described. It was reopened in the 2019/2020 winter season and takes skiers from Hochsölden up to Giggijoch safely, quickly and comfortably. If you want, you can also get off halfway at the middle station. The most important facts and figures on the mountain gondola:

Of course, you are mainly in Hochsölden for skiing and relaxing. But it’s definitely worth taking off your skis and looking across the edge of the slopes. And to go there, too: A decelerating alternative to fun-filled skiing is the high-altitude hiking trail in Hochsölden, that leads through wonderful winter landscapes. Unlimited tobogganing fun is guaranteed on the new Sölden-Gaislachkogl toboggan run on 7.3 kilometers, and therefore one of Austria's longest toboggan tracks. Thanks to the lift-assisted ascent and easy route, tobogganing fun is waiting for all the family.

Getting there

The journey to Hochsölden along the panoramic road is just a foretaste of what you can look forward to during your stay. Namely fantastic prospects! But first things first: From Ötztal’s autobahn exit you follow the federal Ötztal road (B 186) to the end of Sölden. There the glacier road branches off to the right, which leads to Hochsölden (toll-free). The panoramic road is well cleared and safe to drive even in winter. Nevertheless, you should keep an eye on snow chains or recommended winter equipment. Once arrived in Hochsölden, you can leave the car safely in the local underground car park for the rest of your stay.
