You can easily change from one glacier ski area to the next either on skis through the 200 m long ski tunnel or via connecting glacier lifts. You will definitely not get bored on a total of 34.3 slope kilometers in the Sölden glacier ski area!

Tips about Tiefenbachferner

Our slope tip

Piste No. 38 at Tiefenbachferner! The starting point can be found high up in the Alps at around 3250 m, leading down to the base station of Tiefenbach mountain gondola. The extremely wide piste and the even slope gradient without major crossings promises relaxed skiing fun and is therefore also perfectly suitable for beginners. The awe-inspiring view from the top of the viewing platform, the BIG3 Panorama Footbridge, is a true highlight not be missed.

Summer Highlights

Glacier in summer? Of course! And for once, not on skis. Good reasons to explore Tiefenbach Glacier also in summer: the high-altitude hike Tiefenbach Glacier - Vent, offering picture-book panoramas. This technically easy hike is also very suitable for families and leisurely hikers. For all daredevils who are in search of more action-packed adventures and prefer two wheels, there is the challenging Fernar Trail, which starts directly at the end of Rosi-Mittermaier road tunnel. Please watch out - the trail is technically very difficult, some sections are extremely steep, switch-backing and covered with rocky blocks: therefore, it is only suitable for very experienced bikers.

Summit Dinner

The ice Q promises gourmet delights, innovative design and (during the day) breathtaking vistas. If you would like to experience both luxury and enjoyment at the highest level, you should definitely not miss the Summit Dinner in the restaurant awarded with 2 toques. Every Wednesday in winter, the culinary evening starts at 6.00 pm with a gondola ride to the restaurant at 3048 meters. An exclusive 5-course gourmet menu is served by kitchen chef Klaus Holzer and his expert team. The unique dinner is accompanied by live music and ends with the last gondola ride back to the valley at 10.00 pm.

Glacier Road

The highest asphalt road in the Eastern Alps leads from Sölden up to Rettenbachferner and through Rosi-Mittermeier road tunnel further on to Tiefenbachferner. This makes it Europe's highest road tunnel. Due to the high Alpine altitude, you should use the road with appropriate winter equipment also in autumn, just to be on the safe side. Your winter tires should therefore be fitted and the snow chains stowed in the trunk. The following also applies to all non-skiers on the Glacier Road: it is subject to a toll!
