Frequently asked questions about Mountain Carts

In theory, a speed of up to 60 km/h and more is possible when riding on a mountain cart. The emphasis is on theoretical, because in reality such a high speed is reserved to professionals who know exactly what they are doing. Additionally, most tracks do not allow such high speeds.

Similar to tobogganing in winter, you should always adapt the speed on a mountain cart to your own ability and ride it while looking ahead and being ready to brake at any time. For your safety, helmets are compulsory for mountain carts in Sölden, as well as closed and sturdy shoes are an absolute must. We also recommend robust outdoor clothing and goggles in order to be protected against wind and pebbles. HERE you can find out everything about mountain carts in Sölden.

No, mountain carts are designed in such a way that they can be used by practically anyone - if you can ride a bike and know how to steer and brake, you will also do well on a mountain cart. In Sölden, people over the age of 10 and a minimum height of 130 cm can ride a mountain cart on their own. The minimum age for accompanying children is 6 years. HERE you can find out everything about mountain carts in Sölden.

Compared to other off-road vehicles such as quads, mountain carts are not motorized. Furthermore, mountain carts feature a low center of gravity and a wide wheelbase, which in combination promises very high riding stability. Another very interesting detail: the left brake lever operates the brake on the left wheel and the right brake lever operates the brake on the right wheel - so you can dose the braking power of each wheel individually and drift around the corner. HERE you can find out everything about mountain carts in Sölden.

A mountain cart track that is equally popular with beginners and advanced riders can be found in Sölden at the heart of Ötztal. The route, on which tobogganers are speeding down in winter, winds its way down into the valley on almost 8 kilometers. The natural track is covered with gravel and peppered with action-packed combinations of turns and straights. You simply take the mountain gondola up to the middle station, rent a mountain cart at the start and return it in the valley. HERE you can find out everything about mountain carts in Sölden.

In general, mountain carts are always rented on site. If you want to call a mountain cart your own, you have to ask the manufacturer - the purchase price for such a device could not be determined in the course of research. Maintenance costs certainly arise from the hydraulic disc brakes and tires, to name just two obvious components. If you want to rent a mountain cart and experience a truly cool downhill ride, Sölden - the heartbeat of the Alps - is the place to be. HERE you can find out everything about mountain carts in Sölden.
