DYNAFIT Transalpine Run

The DYNAFIT TRANSALPINE RUN, one of the toughest and most spectacular trail run events world-wide, stops in Ötztal already for the third time.

On 29 August, 300 teams will start on the eastern route leading from Garmisch-Partenkirchen towards one of the last great adventures, the crossing of the Alps on foot. During eight days the participants cross Austria (stage venues are Nassereith, Imst, Pitztal, Sölden, Stubaital) in order to reach Italy. The grand finale will take place in Vals/South Tyrol on 05 September.

Stage 5: Mandarfen – Sölden

Start 02.09.2020, Distance 31 km, Altitude meters (ascent) 1967 m, Altitude meters (descent) 2294 m

Uphill across Taschachalpe towards lake Rifflsee. Before reaching the shore, the trail follows Fuldaer Höhenweg. A downhill in the valley's center leads to the bottom of Taschachtal valley and V1. Following the valley to Mittelberg you proceed to Gletscherstube. This is where the long but scenic climb to Braunschweiger Hut and steep Rettenbachjoch (2992 m) begins. Enjoy awesome Alpine panoramas of glaciers and ice-topped peaks. Crossing snow fields, you descend to V2 at Rettenbach Glacier. The last kilometers to Sölden take you along forest roads and sometimes fairly steep trails.

Stage 6: Sölden — Stubaital

Start 03.09.2020, Distance 22.4 km, Altitude meters (ascent) 1891 m, Altitude meters (descent) 1547 m

Short but challenging. Through scenic Windachtal valley to Windachalm and on to V1 at the rear end of the valley. Followed by a long climb to Hildesheimer Hütte and further up the glacier fields to Jochdohle (3150 m) at Stubai Glacier. This is the highest point of the TAR 2020. Downhill across the snow fields of Schaufelferner to V2 next to the Eisgrat station. First follow a cart trail through the ski area to Gamsgarten, then continue on partly technical trails to Dresdner Hütte and further on to the finish area in Stubaital valley.
