The mountain farms of Rotte Rofen, often called Rofenhöfe, are located at an altitude of 2,014 m and about one kilometre to the west and 114 metres higher than Vent in the Ötztal Alps. Like Vent itself, the farms form part of the municipality of Sölden in the Ötztal.The Rofenhöfe are the highest, year-round farmsteads in Austria (2014 m). The Gasthof Rofenhof is open (highseason, restday in summer on monday, restday in winter on sunday).

The high altar probably comes from a former church in Karthaus in Schnalstal valley (statues, St. Bruno, St. Benedict). A steep ascent leads through a beautiful stone pine forest to Mutsbühl (2,340 m), where you can admire the rich flora. From Mutsbühl, you’ll enjoy a magnificent view of Wildspitze (3,768 m), Weißkugel (3,739 m), and Similaun (3,606 m).Walking time: 1 1/2 h to Mutsbühl, 3 h for the round trip.

A very beautiful but somewhat steep hike. Start in the direction of the Martin Busch Hut, then turn right at the first hill and pass through mountain pine forests to reach the Ochsenkopf. Past the Hohler Stein, a hunting base of Ötzi, the Iceman. From there, continue in switchbacks up to the Hörnle. At the summit, you’ll find a small summit cross and a stamping point for the Ötztal Hiking Badge. Enjoy a stunning view of Vent, the highest three-thousanders such as Wildspitze (3,768 m), Ramolkogel (3,427 m), Spiegelkogel (3,424 m), and many more, as well as the Stubai Alps. Walking time: 1 1/2 h - 2 h.
