Fernar Trail

The BIKE REPUBLIC’s alpine natural singletrack starts at the Tiefenbach glacier and carves its way down through super demanding terrain to Gaislach – it’s as spectacular as it is challenging! You start at the top of the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN: the Tiefenbach glacier (2.800 m).

The deepblack track runs through super challenging high-alpine terrain down to Gaislach. Prepare yourself for steep passages, gnarly switchback & massive rocks. To recover and refuel you can stop at any of the hutsaround Gaislach. After passing by the wooden huts and Gasthof Sonneck, Gaislach Trail starts to the right and brings you to the lower section of Nene Trail – another technical black natural trail that winds down through the woods and brings you to the final Schteckler Trail and down to the Gaislachkogl station.

From July 16th 2024 (expected), the shuttle will take you to the starting point at Tiefenbach Glacier:
Every Tuesday & Friday at 2:30 pm (weather permitting*)
Every Saturday & Sunday at 7:45 am (weather permitting*)

• Meet 15 minutes before start time Bus stop E behind Gaislachkogelbahn (opposite Sport4You) - to the left of Windau footbridge
• Only bookable online via Adventure Shop (booking deadline: 4:00 pm the day before)
• Price € 39 per person (including shuttle, toll, mountain rescuer on duty, compensation for landowners)
• Limited number: 17 bikers per shuttle
• Minimum number of participants: 4 people
• In case of no-show of a participant the booked place will be canceled without replacement and no money will be refunded
• Each tour is accompanied by a mountain rescuer who follows the group as a hiker and reacts in case of emergency

You ride at your own risk and responsibility. Please do not overestimate your skill level and prepare carefully: download the Mountain Rescue App (Download - App Store | Download - Google Play) and check if you are appropriately insured. In case of an accident, the rescue team can only operate with ropes due to the tough terrain!

Mind: there are passages with no mobile phone reception! You MUST bring your own repair material (extra tube, tool etc.)!

In case of cancellation by the organizer, the paid amount will be refunded automatically. This may take a few working days, but will be arranged without being asked. Since the feasibility of the tour depends on the weather situation, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the tour even on the day of the event at the meeting point.

*Under these conditions the tour will NOT take place:

• Snowfall or snowy roads
• Heavy wetness or continuous rain on the previous day
• Expected severe weather situation (storm, wind, thunderstorm)

Each Fernar Trail Rider will receive a high quality merino wool goodie from Mons Royale. The goodie can be picked up at Guest Service, Ötztal Tourismus Achweg 5.
