“Vain Effort“ symbolizes three stones waiting to be taken as seats. Sit down, unwind and listen to the stories from the depths of the mountains ... In the course of time, you realize that exactly these stones could tell of thousands and thousands and even thousands of years. They owe their origin to a geological process that began in the primordial sea of Tethys. The stones were formed in the course of their long history by glaciers, water and wind - and finally, within a millisecond, also by humans. Is that probably the origin of the artwork’s title? Vain effort. What the sculptor tries to create in his processing of stones almost seems insignificant, even in vain compared to the primal forces of nature. In terms of time, it is only a moment in the formation history of the Alps, which began some 135 million years ago. History that still continues and is far from being complete.
