“Quartet”, four rounded pieces with smoothly polished sides is probably the most striking artwork on Barteb’ne. Seen from a distance, the quartet seems to be an almost floating element. From up close, the stones invite you to touch and feel. How are the surfaces - rough or smooth, warm or cold? What an unusual sensation when your hands touch the stone and feel quite unexpectedly its smooth sides! The rounded rocks come from Venter Ache mountain brook: They were first rounded off, moved, relocated by glaciers, then by water over the course of thousands of years. Human hands shaped them and took them to their current location in a weathered glacial polish area. In the abstract sense, the boulders could even have been polished by constantly touching people who walked by. A quartet in constant development. Earth history and the Now are united in one exceptional artwork.
